Pen and ink of the Reher Bakery by Susan Basch, 2005.

With the shift in emphasis from historical research and programming to addressing the immediate needs of the newly acquired Reher Bakery building, the committee changed its name, though not its composition, to the Reher Bakery Restoration Project Committee.  The committee’s first inclination was to show the building to as many members of the preservation community as they knew personally to solicit their input.  The need for an Existing Conditions Report soon became evident, along with a referral to an historic architect, Marilyn Kaplan of Preservation Architecture, Albany, New York.  Marilyn completed the Existing Conditions Report in July 2005, and has continued working with the committee through every stage of its development ever since.
